This guide provides examples of accessible tagline statements that can be used to inform program participants how they can request an accommodation or make their needs known. Including tagline statements on event announcements and communications are a great way to create an inclusive and accessible experience.

Disability-Accommodation Request Tagline Examples

    • “(UW-Madison/College/School/Department/Program) is committed to creating an inclusive and accessible event. If you need a reasonable accommodation to attend this event, please contact (name, event host/coordinator) at (phone number/email). All reasonable accommodation requests should be made no less than (insert number here) weeks before the event. We will attempt to fulfill requests made after this date but cannot guarantee they will be met.”
    • “We value inclusion and access for all participants and are pleased to provide reasonable accommodations for full participation in this event. Please contact (name, event host/coordinator) at (phone number/email).”
    • “This event is wheelchair accessible. For questions about other accommodations or other needs, please contact (name, event host/coordinator) at (phone number/email).”

Alternative Formats Statement for All Publications or Handouts Related to the Event Example

    • “This document, along with all publications or handouts used in this event, is available in alternative formats upon request by contacting (name, host department) at (phone number/email).”

Dietary Needs Tagline Example

    • “If you have dietary needs, please contact (name, host department) at (phone number/email).”
