The Office of Compliance is directly responsible for ensuring the University’s compliance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Wisconsin Public Records Law, the privacy portion of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Title IX, and to investigate allegations of discrimination.
The Office of Compliance also partners with external campus entities holding compliance responsibilities to meet our institutional compliance obligations and uphold our ethical standards in accordance with legal and regulatory requirements and ethical best practices based on UW-Madison’s teaching, research and scholarly values and culture.

The Director of Compliance works collaboratively with campus compliance partners to identify compliance obligations, assess areas of risk, and meet our regulatory obligations through training, documentation and reporting requirements, and policy development.
